Please arrange your own travel to and from Plumpton College, specifying the AgriFood Centre entrance:
The drop-off and pick-up address for coaches is: AgriFood Centre, Wales Farm Lane, Lewes, BN7 3AE (please note: this is not the main entrance to the college).
The nearest train stations are Plumpton, Lewes, and Wivelsfield.

Accompanying adults
Please arrange for four adults to join the visit on the day, including at least two qualified first aiders. This requirement ensure that all students have immediate access to a first aider, even while working in two separate groups.

It’s important that we receive both forms as soon as possible after your visit has been confirmed.
If your students have already received classroom sessions this year, please note that there is additional information we need for your Chef on the Farm visit to run smoothly. We appreciate you following the links above to submit your students’ details again.
Risk assessment and safety resources
Please share the following documents with all adults planning and taking part in your visit:
Risk Assessment for Chef on the Farm visits, prepared by the Adopt a School Trust.
Safety Policy for Lamberts Farm (Plumpton College).
Code of Practice: Teacher's Guide published by Access to Farms.
An optional resource is our Knife Skills video, to refresh your students on the bridge and claw methods for cutting food safely. (Link opens in Vimeo).
What to bring on the day of your visit
It is essential that you bring a school first aid kit with you. We also appreciate hard copies of contact details for your key adults (e.g., visit lead, first aiders).
For each participating student, please bring:
a healthy snack (to be eaten on arrival at the college)
a bottle of water
outdoor clothing (for the farm tour)
comfortable, closed-toe shoes (for the kitchen) e.g., no sandals
a change of socks.
For secondary (and older) students only: in addition to the above items, please bring a pair of wellies (for the farm tour).
For each accompanying adult: please bring all of the items listed above, including wellies. We recommend that all adults arrive prepared to support both activities, i.e., the outdoor farm tours and the cooking sessions inside the kitchen.
